Privacy Policy
This policy covers this website. The Relief app is not released yet, so it collects nothing from you today. Section 8 explains what changes when it launches.

1 Who we are
Relief is made by Notrel LLC. We decide what happens to the personal data described here, which under the General Data Protection Regulation makes us the data controller.

We are based outside the European Union but we offer this service to people in the European Union, so the GDPR applies to us.
2 What this website collects
One thing: the email address you type into the waitlist form. Nothing else, and only if you choose to type it.
We store your email address together with the date and time you submitted it, so we can tell how long you have been waiting and prove when you agreed to be contacted.
We do not ask for your name, your age, your location, or anything about your health. There is no account to create on this website.
3 What this website does not do
- No cookies. This site sets none at all, which is why you were not shown a cookie banner.
- No analytics. We do not measure visits, count you, or build a profile of you.
- No advertising and no advertising networks.
- No tracking pixels, no social media buttons, no embedded video.
- No requests to any other company. Every font, image and file on this site is served from this site, so your visit is not reported to anyone else.
4 Why we may use your email, and our legal basis
We use your email address for exactly one purpose: to write to you once, when Relief opens in the App Store.
Our legal basis is your consent, given under Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR when you submit the form. You can withdraw it at any time, and withdrawing it is as easy as giving it.
We will not use your address for anything else. No newsletters, no product updates, no offers, and no passing it to another company for their own purposes.
5 Who else sees it, and where it is stored
Our website and the waitlist are hosted by Vercel Inc., a company in the United States, acting as our processor under a data processing agreement. Your email address is stored on their infrastructure.
Because both we and Vercel are United States companies, your email address is transferred outside the European Economic Area. For an email address alone the risk is low, but you should know it happens, and we would rather tell you than bury it.
We do not sell your data, rent it, or share it with anyone else.
6 How long we keep it
Until Relief launches and we have written to you, or until you ask us to remove you, whichever comes first. After the launch email we delete the list.
If Relief is not launched within two years of the date you signed up, we delete your address anyway rather than holding it indefinitely.
7 Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask us to:
- tell you whether we hold your data, and give you a copy of it,
- correct it if it is wrong,
- delete it,
- restrict or object to what we do with it,
- send it to you in a portable, machine readable form.
You can also withdraw your consent at any time. That does not make anything we did before unlawful.
To use any of these, email privacy@getreliefapp.com. We answer within one month, which is the deadline the GDPR sets. For the waitlist, removal is usually the same day.
If you think we have handled your data badly, you can complain to the data protection authority in the country where you live. We would rather you told us first so we can put it right, but you do not have to.
8 When the app launches, this changes
Relief the app will handle information about your periods, your symptoms, your moods and, if you use it, your pregnancy. That is special category health data under Article 9 of the GDPR, protected in the same tier as medical records. It deserves a fuller and stricter policy than this one.
So before the app is released we will publish a complete privacy policy for it. It will cover what the app records, what a linked partner can and cannot see, how the app stores your data in Frankfurt, Germany, how deletion works, and who represents us inside the European Union.
None of that applies yet, because there is no app to install and no health data to collect. We are not describing it here as though it already exists.
9 Children
This website is not aimed at children, and we ask that you do not join the waitlist if you are under 16.
10 Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of the page. If a change actually affects what we do with your email address, we will email you before it takes effect.
